Irregular work schedules in Seatlte? Please fill out a questionnaire

My name is Lupe Palma and I’m with the Center for Popular Democracy’s Fair Workweek Initiative. We support Starbucks baristas, like Ciara Moran that started a co-worker.org petition last year to hold Starbucks CEO Howard Schultz accountable to improve baristas’ work schedules and end clopens.

Most recently, Starbucks baristas, Leila, Darrion, Grant and Melanie started a coworker.org petition asking CEO Howard Schultz to meet with them and other workers about improving their work schedules.

These baristas have also been organizing in Seattle to pass Secure Scheduling laws that would give more workers opportunity for full-time hours and guarantee advance notice of schedules. Check out more about the campaign at www.workingwa.org/ourtimecounts.

The City of Seattle is doing a survey to see if scheduling is really a problem for hourly workers. We need every worker that works in the City of Seattle who cares about getting a living wage with enough hours of work & advance notice to fill it out! It’s available at bit.ly/otcsurvey.

We hope you continue to support workers efforts to win decent hours and wages for all working people
