Attorney General Bob Ferguson requests that Tim Eyman be held in contempt of court

Washington State Attorney General Bob Ferguson announced today he is asking courts in Snohomish and Thurston counties to hold initiative profiteer Tim Eyman and his associates in contempt of court for failing to fully comply with lawfully-issued civil orders seeking documents that would shed light on potential violations of Washington’s public disclosure law.

“Despite a subpoena and a court order, Tim Eyman continues to impede this investigation,” Ferguson said in a statement. “That’s unacceptable.”

Tim Eyman is a boil on the butt of the body politic.

He needs to be brought down.

4. About damned time. Eyman is a crook, plain and simple...

...and has found loopholes in Washington's Initiative Process to allow him to profit (legally or otherwise) from laws which were enacted to allow Washington citizens more access to their state government.

I lived in Washington State from May 2001 until November 2015, and made it a point to learn as much about Eyman and his "initiatives" as possible. My conclusion: EVERYTHING about Eyman is all centered around Eyman benefiting and enriching himself. Eyman HAS NO altruistic or civic-minded bones in his body. It's all about Tim Eyman and how he can manipulate the situations to his financial gain. I have ZERO RESPECT for the man.

6. It gets better...

if he doesn't provide what has been subpoenaed and the courts do hold him in contempt (2 different counties; 2 different court systems), the Attorney General's office can obtain the necessary records directly from the federal government and the financial institutions under court order.

They're also asking that Eyman et. al. be fined $2,000 per day, until they comply.

Bob Furgeson isn't playing around.

Eyman has been noticeably silent for the past few months. Before this, any time that his name was mentioned in an article he was usually one of the first to respond, usually with a boilerplate cut-n-paste of the talking points of whatever crap he was pushing at the time. One of the most dangerous places in Washington used to be anywhere between Eyman and a TV camera; now, not so much.
