It is HOT in Seattle! There's a heat advisory for the area.

I'm visiting from L.A. and didn't even bring shorts. But I did bring an unmbrella that went unused all week. The temperature gauge on my rental car read 86 today. Yes, it was really cool getting shots of the Space Needle without a cloud in the sky, but this heat is scary. Global warming seems like it's accelerating.

86 degrees and the drier heat that Seattle has offered, with cool nights following.

We drove from NY to SC today, and other than a stop in Maryland for lunch, we encountered terribly humid, hot conditions today. At one point, in southern Virginia, it hit about 96 degrees, and enough humidity to wilt anybody!

I used to live in Seattle, and I know this is a rough patch for them (Mom is in the Portland area, and she described the day as too hot) but it will not last through August into September, like it does on the East Coast.

And it may not be humid by east coast standards, but at 50% humidity it sure feels humid to me, being used to L.A.'s 25% humidity.

I hope the heat doesn't hurt all the beautiful greenery here. Love all the gorgeous foxglove growing wild along the road!
