Washington will sue if Trump raids military construction projects for border wall
Washington will sue the Trump administration, and not even wait a New York minute, if military construction projects in this state are raided to build the border wall under the president's declaration of emergency.
"Our complaint is drafted and ready to file," Attorney General Bob Ferguson and Gov. Jay Inslee said in a statement.
"We remain adamant that Washington State will not help subsidize President Trump's unlawful and unconstitutional 'emergency' declaration to build his wall."
Acting U.S. Secretary of Defense Patrick Shanahan on Monday listed nearly 400 military construction projects, totaling about $12.9 billion, which could be raided to supply money for the wall along the U.S.-Mexico border.
The targets range from the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard in New England to the big Marine base at Camp Pendleton, California.
