Spring Heat Wave Headed For Puget Sound

SEATTLE, WA — It's been sunny and warm in Puget Sound for a solid week now, but brace yourself — it's about to get a lot nicer. This upcoming weekend will feature highs in the low 70s in some spots, and plenty of sun, according to the National Weather Service.

In general, temperatures on Saturday and Sunday will be warmer in the Tacoma area, actually getting into the low 70s. In the Seattle-Bellevue area, we'll get close with a nice 69 degrees on Sunday.

One downside to this nice, sunny weather: Puget Sound is well below normal amounts of rain for this time of year.

As of April 30, we only had 2.21 inches of rain, according to the NWS. We had 5.75 inches in April 2018. We've had only about 10 inches of precipitation so far in 2019, about half the amount we had at this point in 2018.
