..............The book offered an autobiographical look at Walker's 2011 battle with labor unions, and has served as a theme in the governor's interactions with protesters he encounters on trips to early-vote states like Iowa.

Walker suggested in his speech that his experience battling unions and protesters in his home state has also prepared him to serve as commander-in-chief.

"We cannot afford to lose the fight against radical Islamic terrorism. The rest of the world is watching how we confront the challenge of the Middle East. How can we deter our sophisticated adversaries in Eastern Europe and competitors in the South China Sea if we cannot defeat the barbarians of ISIS and roll back the theocrats in Tehran?" Walker asked.

"Clearly, clearly, we can no longer afford to be passive spectators while the world descends into chaos," he continued. "With all the challenges we face around the globe today, now is not the time for untested leadership. I have been tested like no other candidate in this race."..............
