I had an accident on the Beltline so I don't know if I'll be able to stomach driving on it any more. Are there better ways to get around Madison that don't involve getting on that ring of death?

(8,209 posts)there are other ways, but the darn lakes are the issue, you have to go around them or between them.
Where to you have to go to and from where? I could give you an alternate route.

(18,470 posts)It's just the thought of driving on it again actually scares me a little bit. I've driven through Chicago in rush hour and could probably do that again in a heartbeat but the idea of driving on the belt line is a bit frightening now.

(8,209 posts)the problem with the beltline is the traffic can be cruising along at 60mph and suddenly stop very quickly,
that's how most accidents happen there. If you stay aware of that, it is half the battle,

Where you coming from and where are you going? There are some options depending on the departure and arrival points.
