Packers paying Badgers $3M for Lambeau game
GREEN BAY - The Green Bay Packers will pay the University of Wisconsin $3 million to play Louisiana State University at Lambeau Field.
The Lambeau Field College Classic on Sept. 3 will be the first major college football game to be played at Lambeau Field.
The deal is similar in structure to Wisconsin's previous neutral-site games against Alabama in Dallas last year and against LSU in Houston in 2014, said Jeff Schmidt, associate athletic director at Wisconsin. The money goes to Wisconsin's athletic department.
"The net is similar to what we would net for a home game in Madison," Schmidt said.
