Lawmaker backs off requiring random drug testing of students in extracurriculars

A Republican lawmaker is backing off a proposal to require random drug testing of students in extracurricular activities.

Instead, Rep. Joel Kleefisch, R-Oconomowoc, said Thursday he is considering legislation that would require school districts to provide a way for parents voluntarily to have their child tested for drugs.

Kleefisch’s revised proposal comes after Assembly Speaker Robin Vos, R-Rochester, and Gov. Scott Walker this week panned Kleefisch’s original proposal to require drug tests for all students in extracurricular activities and for students who park on school campuses.

Allowing testing of hair samples would likely be part of the new proposal, Kleefisch said.

Especially their infatuation with children peeing in cups. It's disturbing.

the programs start in the State Legislatures. If it is such a good idea for those receiving any type of benefit or extracurricular activity then it is certainly an even better idea for those making the laws in the State.
