Wisconsin COVID-19 statistics question

My County (Lincoln) is one of a handful that does not have an ICU bed. So far, we haven't had any positive testings either.

If someone tests positive and (God forbid) needs critical care, they'll probably be moved to a hospital in a better equipped County.

Suppose (another God forbid here) they die there.

In which County would they be listed as a fatality - their home County, or the one in which they died?

Logic demands they'd be listed as a fatality of their home County, but I'm not sure if logic is what's used to figure the statistics.

No uniform policy. NYC did it the first way and then switched to second way (early April?) . . . nt Bernardo de La Paz Apr 2020 #2
Thanks for helping, looks like the odds are still 50/50. Talitha Apr 2020 #3

thus in the county where they died most likely.

But I suppose the stat could be gathered drom the listed home address of the victim.

Area news would probably say "so and so from such and such" died in (fill in the blank) County.

But the stats on this page might still read zero in the fatality column for my county.

Here's hoping I never find out.

You're birth certificate lists where you were born.
You're death certificate lists where you died.

Where you lived, visited, or trespassed during in the interim is irrelevant.
