I thought he was closer to 6th grade. He's just not too bright. One of those kind that has to marry money because they'd never do it on their own.

The idea that people like that are failing upward to this level is bad in ways that go way beyond poisonous conservative politics.

His bullshit wouldn't score him any point with his teacher- particularly his social studies teacher!

Are there really that many people in this state so easily manipulated, or worse, so mean and stupid?

The celebration of ignorance and the growing opposition to K-12 and higher education is a very, very disturbing part of this trend. Our governor's highest degree is a high school diploma (I assume he has one), and apparently that is a good thing...

"Too bad no one asked him in the debates how a bill becomes a law. He wouldn't know the answer."

It is frightening to see such ignorance making decisions for the rest of us.

This can't be good for our collective self esteem!

I miss hearing intelligent, thoughtful people in my state government speaking out and knowing that they represent me. The Republicans dominate the discourse with their numbingly mindless talking points.

I can't take much more of this. Where is this all leading? Will there just be pockets of intelligent life scattered about the state?

is that i can take complex stuff and tranlate it into more simple

it is a gift

he may be a fool
i think that he is with his sun spots causing global warming etc.

but he might be a very bright fool
perhaps we underestimated him vs russ.

i would hope we would not make the same mistake again.
