Lori Compas trounces Scott Fitzgerald in amazing debate

I was beaming after this debate. Lori simply trounced Fitzgerald. I realized later that not only did I get to hear Lori Compas do a great job of being her authentic, assertive yet measured self, I also got the enormous pleasure of hearing Scott Fitzgerald challenged. How many times have you had to hear or watch him say something ludicrous without a reporter taking him to the carpet in the last year? And I admit that ever since he shoved Wisconsin Act 10 through in that illegal 5 minute meeting on March 9th I have been waiting for just this sort of comeuppance.

As a fake David Koch might say, “Beautiful. Beautiful.”

I admit that I went into the belly of Senate District 13 expecting to find a stand-off of West Side Story proportions between the candidates’ two camps. I may have gotten this idea when my car companions and I drove by duelling signs – first one sign that said “Lori Compas”, and then another that said “Scott Fitzgerald” with the Fitz signs being at least 4? x 8? many times and with an equally large Walker sign next to it.

Or perhaps I got the sense that Fitz’ supporters were surly from my days canvassing in Watertown when I was told to “get the hell out of here” and given a few 1-digit salutes.

But only 1 quarter of the audience at tonight’s debate were making a show of favor for Fitz.

Still, I have no doubt that Fitzy cannot stand up to the challenge of Lori Compass. Go Lori, go!!!

Somehow I am not at all surprised that the ALEC suckling senate leader got trounced in a debate.
If he hasn't got an ALEC or Hearland Inst. meme to inject, he's got nothing at all.

I hope that the blues break out in communities all along the Rock River
