Madison West HS students form PAC for schools and against Walker

http://host.madison.com/wsj/news/local/govt-and-politics/on-the-capitol-west-students-form-pac-for-schools-and/article_74268068-a68e-11e1-89c7-001a4bcf887a.html

A group of students at West High School are hoping to school Wisconsin voters by forming a political action committee (PAC), and registering it with state elections officials at the Government Accountability Board.

The group, known as Students for Wisconsin, describes itself as "working to support public education in Wisconsin and to recall Scott Walker," and has even created its own YouTube ad.

Students for Wisconsin treasurer Jacob Carrel, a senior, said the group and its ad — (see below) — have been completely organized by young people. "One thing I want to get out is that there was no teacher involved, no adult, no anyone involved over 18," said Carrel, 18. "This is student activism."

It's not the slickest, highest-budget video — the students are sitting in front of a sheet draped behind them — but it's still impressive that a bunch of teenagers were together enough to write and create an ad to voice their opinions on Wisconsin politics.

I recall that it was students from a Madison High school who marched to the capitol on several of the days I was there.

Do I have the right school??
