My sister, BIL, and me, to see the colors of all the trees, and visit old friends of my family.

1. if going by Lake Winnebago, take the east side of it.

Way safer than the west side.

there are just a couple of places to eat.

whatever you do, don’t take highway 26.

(actually i am fairly sure you already know. just making sure. i used to live west of Fond du Lac)

2. Our usual route...

I-43 to Green Bay, then 32 into Oconto county.

5. strangely, i have never been on I-43 in that section. just around Milwaukee and suburbs

and city of Green Bay.

6. The overpasses are nice to look at, they are made of brick.

8. I avoid 26 asap! Esp in the winter. Icy in many spots.

9. Everyone gets overconfident on 26

the whole 140 miles of it. Deer, tractors, semi trucks and the Rosendale cop.

Either 151 from Waupun to Fond du Lac
or
Hwy M from Waupun straight north to 44. Slower, generally safer and more scenic.

or further west, multiple fun roads.

3. The colors are pretty good this year-

The rain/snow garbage going on now shouldn't knock the leaves off. Dress warm-we are cold this weekend.

Gonna be in my Land's End jacket, gloves and stocking hat.

I just hope the rain ends by tomorrow morning.

I want to get in maybe a little fishing too.

7. My brother just got back from Door County.

We have family there, going way back. He said the leaves were spectacular this year.
