Poll workers needed in Eau Claire ahead of spring election
EAU CLAIRE (WQOW) - The spring election is just over two months away and the City of Eau Claire is still looking for poll workers.
On April 7, voters will head to the polls to decide a Wisconsin Supreme Court race and in Eau Claire they will also decide the city council president. According to Deputy City Clerk Eric Gilge, there's always a need for more poll workers to staff the city's 20 voting sites.
"We are still looking, as we always are, for additional poll workers," Gilge said. "We usually need about 5 to 600 poll workers per election, and there's turnover every year that we need to account for as well."
More information about being a poll worker can be found on the city elections website, as well as applications that can be submitted to the city's human resources department. The requirements to become a poll worker is to be a qualified elector in either Eau Claire or Chippewa County.
