i want to give a .........

to the guys i saw today in madison standing out in the cold holding recall signs. a special to tip to the guy on park street who had recall signs on all over the lawn.

during my travel around madison and the roads back to illinois i saw lots of recall signs but no signs or anyone standing out in the cold with a support walker sign. i wonder why that is......!

1. It's so rewarding

to be out there collecting signatures (and thumbs-up, and democrabeeps and waves)!

Much tougher in the red parts of the state, but they keep on keepin' on, and every signature is its own reward.

Thanks for the tip o' the hat! (even tough I wasn't out there today)

2. Even here in Grothman country, the volunteers are reporting "thumbs up" outnumber "fingers" 5-1. nt

3. There was a man outside the Appleton library last weekend for three hours

People were signing, but they were also buying him hot drinks the whole time. He had a stack of empties.

4. When my friend and I were collecting in Middleton,

A woman from England stopped to thank us. She bemoaned the fact that she couldn't sign the petitions, and asked if she could buy us a whisky!

We settled for a cup of coffee, but that whisky sure sounded good!
