I really hope the weather event mentioned in the OP is not serious.

Over the past few weeks we've put out trays of water, we have four bird baths in the yard and a little fountain on the deck. The poor birds and critters (even hornets) have been at them constantly for a drink. This rain is truly welcome and a bit more is coming it looks like!
