Private Schools in WI want their cake and eat it to. They want their taxpayer vouchers but to be exempted from school reporting requirements that public schools have to do with the public. This protects private schools from quality comparisons so the constant attack on public schools can continue without any data to make a case in rebuttal. Must be more ALEC trial ballooning.

The bill, first introduced in September, is being reworked in private meetings after private schools and others objected to its approach.
Meanwhile, Republican Sen. Glenn Grothman has proposed private schools be exempt from reporting requirements if they dont want to make the information public.
Public schools, including charters, already provide a wide range of data. The accountability bill would extend those requirements to private schools and create consequences for schools that underperform multiple years in a row, including restructuring, closing, revocation of charter or removal from the voucher program.
Gov. Scott Walker has repeatedly said he supports having every school in Wisconsin that receives taxpayer money report the same information. But finding a deal that Republicans who control the Legislature, private schools and voucher proponents can all agree on has proven difficult.
