Dear Australia: I'm sorry we treated your citizen so awfully. I'm embarrassed.

1. My apologies, also.

I lived in Oz for a year quite some time ago. I loved it. I found everyone to be kind and friendly. So sorry for the unkind treatment of one of yours. It apparently is a sign of the times here in the US.

3. It is pretty awful,

and hard to understand the mentality.

But many of us here also feel embarrassed, angry, and let down by our government with its treatment of the asylum seekers on Manus and Nauru.

It's a very ugly world we live right now, my friend. And I don't know where it will end.

2. What a horrible story

I apologize also. I lived in Australia from 1975 to 1980 and met some of the most wonderful people there I have ever known in my long life.
