Toronto company ditching shipping goods supplier Uline after learning of Trump ties

Uline is one of the biggest donors to Trump and Republicans. They also sell to Canada. Here's a good article about a company in Toronto who switched away from Uline. By moving away from Uline they not only stopping supporting an organizing funding the people threatning Canada's sovereignty but they also saved a lot of money too.

Excerpt from the article:

Etee Canada, a skincare and cleaning supply company founded in Parkdale, has severed ties with its former shipping goods supplier, Uline, after learning that the company’s owners are major donors of U.S. President Donald Trump.

In Uline’s stead, Etee CEO Steve Reble said he was able to find cheaper and more sustainable boxes produced in the GTA — and he’s encouraging other Canadian businesses to follow suit.

Uline, a leading American supplier of cardboard boxes and other shipping goods, is privately owned by founders Richard and Elizabeth Uihlein. The couple gave US$5 million to Trump’s 2024 campaign, according to Forbes, cracking the publication’s list of Trump’s top donors. They also contributed over $100 million to Republican groups during the last election cycle, according to campaign finance tracker Open Secrets.

Reble estimates his company was spending hundreds of thousands a year on Uline’s products, from their cardboard boxes to gloves to other business supplies — making them one of Etee’s main suppliers.

“All of a sudden I'm like, ‘Oh my God, by buying from Uline, we're essentially supporting the annexation of our country,’” Reble said.

Trump has repeatedly referred to Canada as the “51st state” since late 2024, and suggested he would use “economic force” to annex Canada.

We know because we use Democratic Underground and I along with other members (more others than me) have worked to inform everyone about why Uline is bad. Or if we didn't hear it from here we've read it on websites like ProPublica that have reported on Uline's political activities.

The problem is that not everyone does this or even follows politics at all, especially business owners who might be super busy and have very little time to follow politics or any sort much less knowing that Uline supports Trump. Also unfortunately some business owners might even support Trump too.

In the article it explains how he found out:

Reble said he became aware of Uline’s support for Trump through an Etee customer.

“One of our customers reached out and was like, ‘I love your mission, I love your mandate, I love your products — but the boxes you're sending them in make no sense,’” Reble said.

So it's up to us to inform as many people as possible about why Uline is bad and that they could save money by finding another supplier. If you order something online and it's in a Uline box be sure to contact the supplier and tell them about alternatives. Mention cost savings to motivate even apolitical people to switch.

Heck just think about the fact that there are so many cheaper alternatives to Uline and yet people don't use them because Uline is good at marketing so some people just get the catalogs and order without ever thinking about finding a better price or looking at alternatives.

Another thing to note that the article was from April, 2025 but I saw no one shared it yet but I believe even if you noticed the date your reaction would be equally valid.

... where one cannot call oneself a good person and be a Trump supporter. They are mutually exclusive concepts.
