Christy Clark's re-election renews pipeline debate

The unexpected victory by Christy Clark and her Liberal Party in B.C.’s provincial election has renewed the divisive debate over pipelines.

<snip>

Love said more than 130 companies were at the fundraiser for the B.C. Liberals in Calgary earlier this year — a clear sign many Alberta businesses will be celebrating the Liberal win.

He wouldn't say how much was raised at that event but records show Alberta companies donated hundreds of thousands of dollars to the B.C. Liberals.

I'm just so upset about this. We nearly had a chance to put the brakes on the rampant rape and pillage of our land but the stars didn't line up, an unfortunate choice for NDP leader vs too much big money. I think Dix is a good decent guy, but he didn't get his message across well, he had a bit of baggage they could use against him and his campaign from day one was inept. He tried to keep it clean but he could still have hammered on their dismal record which he did not do.

Sigh. Now we gotta fight pipelines. We need somebody with fire in their belly like Davey Barrett.

First the Leafs choke, then the NDP does. I hadn't really followed the BC election, but I thought it was a done deal. I guess we had better get used to tar-tankers heading to China. WTF is wrong with people.
