http://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/toronto/story/2013/07/27/toronto-police-siu-streetcar-ttc.htmlA video posted online by Martin Baron shows at least four officers positioned near the sliding front doors of the parked 505 Landsdowne streetcar, one of whom had their gun pointed.
Baron told CBC News he heard police shouting "drop the knife" multiple times. Several gunshots were fired a short time later.
"I could see a guy standing up with a knife, and it wasn't a big thing, maybe five or six inches long," Baron said. "There was no apparent attack. I didn't see him attack anyone."

(5,562 posts)The pigs are totally out of control. Every time I hear of something like this I think of the poor man in the Vancouver airport that they tazed to death, the young man up in northern BC that was executed by a pig who I was told by someone up there was jealous because of a girl, and of the poor mentally ill man in Victoria who was gunned down by pigs right in front of a church congregation because he was scared and running away. And they all get away with it scot free.
Because now we have the RCMpigs investigating the pigs in the senate and the pigs in the senate investigating the rcmpigs. Sweet yeezus, no wonder the country is in the state its in.

And - are these cops such bad shots they can't just shoot him in the leg or something?
Also - 4 cops can't handle one weenie knife?
Frickadee - our Police Forces are becoming too much like our southern neighbors
Not a good thing
(sigh)

(8,646 posts)I was even watching the video with a relative that is a cop in a major city, and they said that they didn't see any reason to shoot - that they were contained on the streetcar and it seemed strange to them that guns were their first solution.
