At least for the vast majority of things.

It's the drugs that we tend to get screwed on, unless you have a good work plan or something.

I deleted my last response to you because I think I divulged too much personal info & besides, it was poorly worded.

But thank you again for letting me know; your response was indeed most helpful. 🙏

You hear about it when it is a child especially and they do a go fund me. That is for prohibitarily expensive or rare conditions. It usually involves some sort of drug treatment. They are thrapies often not given in the USA either.

I remember my grandmother needed an eye proceedure on her good eye. She only had one eye. The other was glass. She had some money so she gave the public hospital some of the money to buy a specific piece of equipment. They did. She had the procedure. So did others. She was able to drive for another decade.

As per anywhere, in a bad situation the rich can fly anywhere in the world and pay for the treatment they need. But even they don't have access to drugs the pharmaceutical corporations refuse to make.

But as to pre-existing conditions it is not even a consideration how or when you got sick in canada unless that is important to your treatment and future welfare.

There is no such thing as far as health care access.

We also never use the word "Insurance" when it comes to our health care. Even though it is a form of insurance backed up by the federal government. Its just called Medicare.
