UK in Serious Trouble - Joe Blogs

The UK economy is starting to crack.

Growth has stalled, GDP has slipped into repeated contraction, unemployment is rising, and businesses are pulling back on hiring. At the same time, the Bank of England has been forced to cut interest rates — not because things are improving, but because the slowdown is accelerating.

In today’s video, we break down:

• Why UK GDP has flatlined for months
• How higher employer National Insurance has driven up business costs
• Why job vacancies and job adverts are falling fast
• What’s really happening in the UK labour market
• And how a £20–30bn “fiscal black hole” mysteriously disappeared before the Budget

Put together, these warning signs point to an economy under serious strain — and the risk of recession is rising. Is the UK already breaking… or is the worst still to come?

by a bad economics professor, but you do need to understand that rising wages are a lagging indicator of inflation. They don't cause inflation. They are a sign that inflation has already ocurred.

And once that sinks in a bit, maybe you can tackle the concept of the multiplier effect as income at the bottoim goes up, rather than the law of diminishing returns you get when it is lavished on the hoarding class.

Then we can start discussing the rest of this.

(BTW, it's odd that interest rate breaks never seem to cancel out the few pounds and pence escaping businessmen to pay their workforce. My; guess says they come close to canceling out)
