...but I don't think it was very good stunt.

Mind you, if look at parliamentary history, you'll see that MP's have done much worse things then that in the chamber many years ago.

have pointed fingers at each other (though I dont know if it's the middle finger) and have called each others names. At times, I do recall the Speaker chastising them.

....well, let's just say that there is a reason why the government and opposition benches in the Commons are 2 sword lengths apart.

Though trivial as anything, compared with some parliamentary antics, notably the time in the 70s when Heseltine held up the Mace in anger! You could murder someone with that Mace, but hardly with a collage!

I can see why the Speaker stopped Lucas - it could be a case of 'allow one to do it, and they all will'. Imagine the crap the right wing Tories would brandish. It'd end up looking like the background to a live election news broadcast - supporters all trying to get their signs in front of each other.
