Republicans are traitors, every single one.

They should be treated as traitors who put party before country.

If you have friends of family that are Republicans, say "I don't want to talk politics because I might tell you the truth".

I am not letting corporate owned Democrats off the hook, but there is a difference.

I have often been heard to say that the Republicans have been the party of "no" for as long as I can remember, while the Democrats have been the party of "compromise", and that I'd like to see the Democrats grow a bit of a backbone.

This is, perhaps, not quite what I was thinking, though...

3. Maybe. But you have to at least try to argue respectfully as much as you can.

When they devolve into name-calling or baseless RW lies, that's when I usually come back with, "I'm not going to talk politics with you. You're not being reasonable", and leave it at that.

But I usually take the high-road when I encounter passionate Republicans. I usually say, "My daddy's always told me, there are two topics one never should discuss in a friendly conversation: politics and religion." And then leave it at that.

4. This type of attitude is why nothing gets done

The notion that Republicans are "traitors" is ludicrous. No different than some fringe Republicans claiming that Obama is Muslim. I prefer to treat everyone with respect.

On edit, I suppose I should ask why you think they are traitors, since you don't state why.

Psychopaths and liars? Any specifics? If you are speaking of politicians, every politician lies, or at least twists the truth to suit their needs. It doesn't take much research to find stories on the WaPo giving Hillary or Bernie multiple Pinocchios for their misstatements/lies. And even if every single Republican was a psychopath and liar, which they aren't, that doesn't make them traitors. If you want to treat them as scum knock yourself out, but it does nothing to advance any agenda Democrats might have and in fact makes progress much more difficult. I choose to act like an adult.

I get the point. But on the other hand, you may win over someone if you treat them with respect and try to reason with them.
It may not work on most Republicans but a few may not be beyond reaching.
