(4,167 posts)But love for him to run for Senate against Inhofe this year
Edit: I guess Inhofe isnt on the ballot this year. I assumed he was because he was elected in 1994 which would equate with being up thus year, but I guess that was a special election

(8,617 posts)Brad Henry is not the only Oklahoma Democrat that could run for the Inhofe US Senate seat in 2020. Dan Boren could also run for the US Senate in 2020 against Inhofe or Fallin. Boren's father occupied Inhofe's US Senate seat from 1979 to 1994.
Brad Henry as the Democratic Nominee for the 2020 US Presidential Election and Dan Boren as the Democratic Nominee for the 2020 OK US Senate Election could help Democrats win the Oklahoma US Senate Seat in 2020.

(844 posts)Though his wiki claims he is against gun control; I get why this would appeal to some southern states, but I think we need to lean into our values hard and not be afraid in 2020.
Especially if we want to inspire new voters.

(7,513 posts)The state will vote red on national issues when it comes to senator or president; governor is more the man. Henry was an OK governor (who had the support of Barry Switzer because, as the coach said, "he is a conservative Democrat" but could have pushed harder for more money for education, taxes on the oil and gas industry, etc. David Hall did when he won election in 1970 and George Nigh later, though not as much. Both were decent men like Henry but IMO Henry could not swing the state to Dems if he were on the national ticket.

(4,516 posts)This state, along with some others lost its damn mind when a black man sat in the WH. There is no way he could be elected in OK today and as POTUS material, it's a REAL reach. There HAS to be someone better!
