I'll believe it when I see it. And even then, Democrats will only have won a battle and not the war because the war goes on and on. Republicans count on Democrats becoming complacent and too often they are right.

They are friends, apparently, and Corker started to endorse him. Got smacked by McConnell, so I don't know if it'll keep, but it sure sounds like he's got little interest in stumping for his GOP replacement-wannabe. Could be good.

It's looking okay though. There are three running in the GOP primary next month (and Dems can cross over and vote in the GOP primary, as no one is challenging Donnelly in the Dem). Two are sitting congresscritturs- Messer and Rokita-- and both have sudden issues that cropped up this week-- Rokita's been illegally using donor data, and Messer turns out to have had a couple DUIs which came before he ran to fill the seat of a state rep who was killed by a drunk driver. Messer apparently did not then tell the local or state party about his convictions.

The third GOP guy is Mike Braun, the usual fruitcake redrightwinger. His brother Steve is running for one of those congress seats. It was revealed recently that both of them voted Democratic in the past (Mike for years, apparently). (How you vote in the general is still secret, but when you vote in a primary, you have to choose to vote in one party's primary. So you can vote either GOP or Dem each primary election, and that's public record.) It's not at all uncommon to vote in the other party primary here-- lots of Democrats crossed over to vote for Lugar's crazy opponent so that the popular Lugar didn't get to run in the general, and the crazy guy lost to Donnelly (the current Dem senator).
But Mike Braun seems to have actually BEEN a Democrat. Hard to believe, as he's a neanderthal about social issues. But that's Indiana. Anyway, each of the three has some crippling bad news this week, so maybe they'll chew each other up, and one will emerge in May with the fans of the others hating him and staying home in Nov.
Donnelly isn't wildly popular, but he's done a decent job-- no one's going to vote against him because of bad constituent service or anything like that-- it would be national politics or nothing.
So that seat might hold.

Oh, the three GOP candidates are accusing each other of being insufficiently for Trump. They are all completely "I'm the biggest Trumphead there is!" That isn't going to wear well in November.
