1. I am more tempted to tie him around the GOP's neck

like a pork chop. That is my belief on the GOP's endgame - jettison Trump but keep his support (how they do that I am not sure, but I think about a George R. R. Martin story where a man dying of cancer decides to punch the ticket of a dangerous politician - he only served to transfer the demagogue's support to only his slightly less odious running mate). I wonder if the powers that be are lining up their "liberal" patsy as we speak.

The ones Rachel calls "small c" conservatives? Those careful, thrifty folks who beleive in fairness and decency have been looking for an exit from the Rabid Raving Red Republicans for years in some numbers - maybe it is time to offer some "asylum", now that Il Dupe has completely lost it.

4. Trump was a lifelong liberal before 2016, he was to the left of Obama and Hillary on gay rights

for instance back in 2000 and he and his son were good democrats and supporters in the 2006 election. I don't know how or why he suddenly became conservative.

7. He has no ideology except for whatever serves his personal interests.

He identified as a Democrat when it was convenient for him on account of New York politics and his real estate business. When it came time to run for President he saw that he could get votes by running as a racist populist pretending to be a conservative. He never cared about what either party actually stood for.

They have given up on principles of actual conservatism that used to be GOP party policy.

Now, whatever he says is what is right and is the policy of the cult (party).

Right-wing apologetic number seven, used after “the liberals wouldn’t let us” or number sixteen “we were sabotaged by the Commies.”
