2020 and 2022 NC US Senate Election.

If Roy Cooper-D decided to run for Governor in 2012, Would he have won the Democratic Nomination and the November General Election?
If Cooper-D got elected Governor in 2012 and re-elected in 2016, He'd likely be pressured by the DNC and DSCC to run for the US Senate in 2020 against Tillis-R. ie 2020 CO US Senate Election (Hickenlooper-D vs Gardner-D)
Cooper-D is favored to win re-election as Governor in 2020. If he can help Democrats win the NC Lieutenant Governor's Office in 2020, Cooper-D would be the front runner for Burr-R US Senate seat in 2022.
