He'd lose, just like if Iowa voted for Clinton, Vilsack, or Obama again. They'd all lose by 5 points. This state is just like Ohio; older, crankier, and more conservative. Twenty years ago your typical Iowan was in his 40s, socializing with people at work and listening to CNN. Now he's retired, sitting home listening to Hannity and getting angrier by the day. Instead of funding education and cleaning up the environment, these meatheads in Des Moines wage culture wars which chase out young Iowans and scare away people from other states and immigrants, all groups that helped us be more democratic a generation ago. This is all by design. This is why Iowa isn't a swing state; there simply is no mechanism to fix this at the present time. You're talking decades of repair before we'd elect a Tom Harkin again.
