"Do you want to see only the webpage content delivered securely..."

Does anyone know how to knock out this security warning error?

Checking the internet there seems to be no solution?

Has anyone here queried Microsoft about getting rid of it?

Some say it's a HTTPS/HTTP problem. Others say it is an IE 8 browser problem.

Now, if this msg appeared only infrequently it wouldn't be that big a deal, but this thing is popping up everywhere I go and with EVERY e-mail message I want to open.

And there is no "Don't show this message again" option.

help

2. Have done that already and didn't work...

others report the same. Will try it again tomorrow. And the further instructions I'll also have to read tomorrow. Thank you for the help.

I'm not even sure that I have IE8? Microsoft cut XP users off from updates to IE I think more than a year or so ago. Not sure what number we were up to at the time. But actually I'm using Safari, not IE. Tho IE is always running it seems as the default browser. There's no way to shut it off.

4. If you are using something other than IE, instructions for IE likely will not help

might help.

What you are experiencing is called "mixed content". The above link is the first thing that came up googling "safari mixed content"

5. I'm using Safari, but most of the instructions go thru the control panel...

to security, etc. But I have to add that though I am using Safari, IE continues to run as it's the default browser and it's always fighting any other browser I add on.
Thank you for this additional help. Unfortunately, can't devote any time to this issue right now. Many also say it's a HTTPS/HTTP problem. But, no one is really saying, "this works!"

Will try your link when I can again give some time to this.

9. Mixed content means HTTPS/HTTP problems

It occurs when a web site is poorly designed and references non-secure objects (http) from a secure page (https). Your browser is warning you, because not everything is secure.

Since I do not have Safari, I can't say "this works", but when you have time, search on "mixed content" and "Safari" and you will find your answer.

I've since moved on to Firefox and the warnings have stopped.
Does that mean that none of these websites any longer reflect "mixed content" which they did only earlier today or days ago? That would seem hard to believe.

And in fact EVERY website that I went to, every encounter with my e-mail, and each individual piece of e-mail would bring up this message.

6. Yes, agree re Firefox and I've used it in the past. However....

for some reason my IE is always fighting any browser I add on and that was more than true re Firefox! I have Safari on now, but as I'm saying above, IE continues to run in the background.

What's even more surprising about these dumb pop up messages is they seem to have been going on for at least two years or more before I began to be bothered by them!

U.S. Government Suggests that You Switch from Internet Explorer

BOSTON — Microsoft is rushing to fix a bug in its widely used Internet Explorer Web browser after a computer security firm disclosed a flaw over the weekend, saying hackers have already exploited it in attacks on some U.S. companies.

https://www.yahoo.com/tech/new-security-flaw-affects-all-versions-of-internet-84085229159.html

I've had Safari on my computer now for only a few months and already I can see it's being eroded with IE coming back to prominence. Given this news today, I'm going to download Firefox and try it again. This is like the third time.

Thanks for your help.

how do I do that?

I can recreate forum list and a few other things but I need to have the full list of my links.

Oddly enough, Firefox has returned my File/Edit/View/Tools which had disappeared for a long time.

Thanks again.

Also, how do I turn off this EDIT history Firefox is providing me with?

11. Not necessarily as in this "security warning" question ....

we've been fooling around with. The best answer was probably, "change your browser" but didn't see that anywhere.

Plus you can waste a lot of time looking for computer answers on the internet which I guess is why this forum is popular here.

By the way, I hit the link you gave me very quickly and went with "download.com" but had always felt it was better to go to the source for a download?

Thanks for your help.
