Question about ads

I notice lately that when I'm online, searching different web sites including DU all of a sudden I'll get a vocal ad for different products.

I never had this before and I am not aware of downloading anything that would cause this.

Does anyone have any ideas of what might be causing the problem?

I did a system restore back to the 21st but just had another ad so that didn't solve the problem.

I am using IE 11 and centurylink is my provider.

I'd say run a scan with Malwarebytes anti-malware and Spybot R+D, my two favourite (and free) anti-malware programs.

paid version so should have caught any problems with malware.

Will try Spybot and see if that helps.

Thanks.

but then I couldn't run other videos, probably something I did wrong.

I like Internet Explorer, have tried others and don't like them. I am a creature of habit.

Your PC could be infected with a certain foxy adware program. Try Safe Mode to scan for any threat first.
If your antivirus still cannot find and remove the malware. You may like to try free steps to stop pop-up ads, in post:http://www.removeviruspro.com/how-to-remove-pop-up-adsbrowser-redirect-from-internet-explorer/
This helped me once. Hope it works for you as well.

I think I solved it previously but will keep this in mind if I have any more issues.

I did install ad blocker and it's working well.
