Windows Live Mail Error

Today, for the second time in the past 10 days or so, my WLM service is down. I can't send or receive email (and that means I can't renew my DU star membership!) Just like the first time, I keep getting Windows Live Mail Error: 0x800488EB

The last time it happened, after about 3 days my email suddenly started working again.

I've tried everything I can think of to fix it myself, but nothing has worked. Should I just be patient and wait for the problem to fix itself again?

I tried doing this the last time, but I've lost my password, so I couldn't. I tried to contact msn to retrieve it or get a new one, but I couldn't contact them without my password.

I finally figured out what to click in my email program to get a new password, and then I used the instructions you posted, and voila!
