Warning to update Internet Explorer immediately.

Microsoft has urged Windows users to update their machines after discovering a bug in Internet Explorer that could allow hackers to take control of their machines.

It would allow an attacker to hijack control of your computer via Internet Explorer – just by visiting a boobytrapped webpage.

All versions of Windows, including Windows 10 are vulnerable to the bug, the firm said - although its new Edge browser is not.

I know a lot of people dislike The Daily Mail. I find they get a lot of stories first so I still read over there.

Does this threat cause problems for those of us who still have the XP dinosaur?
I try to use my laptop w/Win7 but prefer the PC. Cannot afford a new PC so now I'm left wondering if the old workhorse is in MORTAL danger.
What say you learned members?

It apparently effects all versions of Windows.

Chances are that you will never fall prey to this bug. If Windows didn't find it in 20 years, I doubt some hacker is suddenly going to discover it. Patch or don't if you don't feel comfortable. It works my luring you to go to a dangerous website. A hacker is going make that porn or free Viagra, if your username is Paper Roses I doubt you are the target.
