Nothing urgent but a question. I have Windows before 10 (I'm thinking 9 but who knows).

I'm also quite satisfied with it. They keep bugging me to download 10 and I really don't want it. I've heard the nightmare stories. My question would be is 10 okay and would they be fooling with my present download just to get me to do it? Computer has been acting up all of a sudden and I'm wondering if it's a sabotage thing or something...Thanks for any help on this...

1. I recently got a new pc w/ Windows 8 used it a week and upgraded to 10

I have not had any issues at all.

All the reasons I didn't want 8 are resolved in 10 and it is much more desktop friendly than 8.

2. I have Windows 9 and I wouldn't take 10 if they paid ME.

If you're happy where you are, then why change?

I don't think they would mess with your present download. I haven't had that experience.

My tech guy was able to remove Win 10 (the pitch for it) from my computer and that took care of that!

GWX Control Panel (formerly GWX Stopper)

http://ultimateoutsider.com/downloads/

Go to that link, download GWX Control Panel, install it, and you won't get bugged any more. At least, not until Microsoft changes something. If they do, just go back to that link to see if they've upgraded GWX to block the new pest.

11. if you can boot up directly to the old fashioned desktop, you have Windows 8.1

With Windows 8, you had to go to a Start screen first with the Desktop icon and many other icons.

The easy way to tell is go to Control Panel, click System, and it will tell you under "Windows Edition".

10. Depending on how much you like Win 8.x,

upgrading to win 10 might or might not be a good thing (leaning towards good).

I have win 7; no need to upgrade.

12. I went from 7 to the free 10 upgrade.

After a day of a few glitches and learning curve, and typical overnight update downloads which fixed the glitch, everything is faster, better, stronger!

If I want to sync everything, it's all there! And I'm such a Luddite, I don't have anything to sync!

Windows 10 is an upgrade.

13. Windows 10 is awesome.

Super fast!

I had reservations (a little over a month ago). Finally gave in and couldn't be happier. I actually posted in this forum about how awesome it is.
