Check to see if a fraudulent comment was left at the FCC in your name

Not only was a fraudulent comment left in my name. It was also at my correct address.

This is what it says:

The unprecedented regulatory power the Obama Administration imposed on the internet is smothering innovation, damaging the American economy and obstructing job creation. I urge the Federal Communications Commission to end the bureaucratic regulatory overreach of the internet known as Title II and restore the bipartisan light-touch regulatory consensus that enabled the internet to flourish for more than 20 years. Here is what the comment said:

My name isn't very common. I find this very strange that 3 same names at 3 different addresses with same comment...I can't believe this is coincidence...

Meanwhile, on a positive note, I was happy to see actual neighbors and friends of mine who made great messages for Net Neutrality to the FCC....

Someone in a small town with my name supposedly put in the following comment, so I googled my name and that town in New York and only one person by that name appeared from that town, and they died two months before the comment went in.

12. Damn! My name was used, too

I searched and found my name along with the same cut-and-paste comment "The unprecedented regulatory power........etc" , but the address was not mine.

However, I googled the address, and it does not exist. So my name was fraudulently used, with a non-existent address. There are probably more fake submittals just like this.

16. I would be careful about leaving your real name on an internet site

Any site you visit can see various pieces of info including your IP which locates you geographically. Maybe some credible organization has investigated this site but I haven't seen that info.

Be careful out there in the interwebs.

Someone is putting fraudulent comments on the FCC site.

Here is one in Barack Obama's name. I don't think Barack Obama's IP address indicated he lived at 1600 Pennsylvania Ave in July of 2017.

Someone is committing fraud.

And it searched the FCC for fake comments.

I also found my comments by going to the site and searching for my name.

In addition to the fake comment, I had posted two comments in support of Net Neutrality.
