When you copy an image location from the internet

and want to down load it to your desktop, where does the image go?

I have a garden design job!!! and I need to make him a mock up of how it will look.

1. It goes to your

clipboard. Ctrl+V pastes it.

2. Copy the URL of the image, open a new tab in the browser, paste the URL and hit Enter...

Now you will see the image and nothing but the image. Right-click on it and save.

However, this does not work with all images. Some websites know sneaky ways to sabotage that and protect their images from theft. Sometimes you can get around that (it's tricky, not gonna get into details), sometimes you can't.

3. If you want to download the image (rather than the location, which is a link),

select “Save Image As” or “Download image” (wording will vary depending on your browser).

Copying the image location just puts the URL on your clipboard. You can then paste that into a text editor to see the URL, or into a web browser to go to the image. That will show you the full size of the image, which is often larger than it appears on the original page. From there, you can also download it if you wish.

6. Good but partial answers above...

Assuming you're using Windows, put the cursor over the picture and right click. If you see a box pop up starting with "save image as..." click that and tell it where to store it, and a diagram of your disk should be there somewhere . You don't have to tell it what to call it, but you can. Me, I usually save it just to the desktop so I can find it easily, but you could save it in any folder you want. And when you're finished with it, you can delete it or move or copy it to any folder.

If you get another popup that doesn't include "save as..." left click on the pic and it should bring up a larger copy which you can than save.

Once in a while you find images that can't be copied that easily, but this works for most of them.
