Anyone experienced with MP3 player downloads

I download mp3 music files with my Windows Media Player to my mp3 player, but the files always group themselves with other songs by the same artists. I want the songs to play in the order that I choose and not the order chosen by the player.

Does anyone have any experience changing the order of songs on an mp3 player? Would it do any good to sync the songs back to the Windows Media Player and trying a shuffle? I tried to use the sync list on Windows Media to separate the songs to my own order when I first synced them to the mp3 player, but apparently the player itself likes to group all songs by artist.

Anyone with expertise in this endeavor?

while true your mp3 player will still sort mp3 files according it's whims, playlists solve that problem. just play the playlist(but make sure the actual mp3 files exist) you can have multiple playlists.

when i download mp3 albums there is usually a *.m3u file. thats the playlist. it appears to be textfile editable. maybe with notepad.

simple tutorial..

I did not create playlists when downloading songs to the mp3. I will do so this time and see if I get better results.
