If you recall the EXACT wording, google it. I find a lot of these scams use the same script.

an anonymous, random, nontraceable number).... Typically it will be a recording stating no such number or similar. BTW, I don't subscribe to Skype, but have a $20 balance that I just let sit there.. Such calls basically cost nothing because they don't connect. It does let me check a lot of nuisance calls, though.

Never ever trust caller id. It's very easy to fake.

Never give useful info to someone that has called you ... unless you know them well and recognize their voice.

Especially not credit cards or account info.

There's nothing Apple can do. The problem is with the phone system allowing bogus caller id.

This is from an article two days ago:

As if that wasn’t enough, Apple called and said they “found some suspicious activities” in my iCloud account. “Your iCloud account has been breached,” they said. “Contact Apple Support Advisor,” they said, and kindly provided the phone number. They called seven times in the same day. Strangely, though, the number turned out to not be a working number.

I just googled "Your Icloud account has been breached" and some warnings and articles came up.

No company is going to call you to tell you they've been breached. Let's just assume for a minute that they actually had the time and manpower to do that, which, they don't (you're talking about potentially millions of calls). They don't like to actually admit that they've been breached. It's not good PR.

if you get an email, don’t click on any links. If you’re concerned, go to the vendor’s website and see if you can login.
