Help Me!!! (in screechy falsetto voice from The Fly) I'm trying to do a reset of my son's WIN 10
puter since we got the Blue Screen Of Death this morning. I'm at the point where the screen will
indicate 88% complete then the monitor will display No Signal while the power light either flashes or stays on steady. I've shut the thing off and on a few times but come back to what I just described What can I expect now?

1. Do you have the power cord plugged in?
Take the battery out for about a minute and try it again. If there was no power while a Windows update was in progress you might have a problem. |

3. Thanks, already have that. I'm in the middle of the RESET process but wondering what's going
on. (Got into Safe Mode, did a Recovery, deleted latest quality update, couldn't delete the other class
of update, went for RESET...) Monitor will show 88% complete then go to No Signal with the power light flashing... |

4. External monitor?
If yes, the problem maybe in the connector, disconnect the monitor cable from computer and plug back in.
Happens on my cdmi monitor all the time. |

5. Thanks but it's not the monitor. If I do a hard reset it comes up and starts the whole process
over again. At this point I don't know if it's working or it's a bug or a feature...
Started with Blue Screen Of Death and I'm losing hope... I know, I shoulda bought a Mac... |

6. I had this problem years ago
When W10 1st came out. it was a known problem that it conflicted with my anti-virus program. I forgot what one I was using at the time. I ended up restoring the PC to a previous backup date, downloaded a free virus program, deleted the program that I had, let the "fixes" update. Defragged and cleaned disc. Reinstalled my virus program.

7. Can you get it started in safe mode?
Safe mode disables a lot of drivers etc and effectively gives you a bare minimum working computer that allows you to fix things.
Give it a try: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/12376/windows-10-start-your-pc-in-safe-mode |

9. I got it in safe mode, tried this and that then chose to do a OS RESET and I should be
in that process now but it doesn't seem to be going anywhere...

10. Thanks all. It's up and running thanks to Disaffected over in General Discussion. Son has
yugioh running and I'm headed for a nap!

12. Oh yeah, I could have said that Disaffected suggested I unplug the power cord then plug
it in again. Worked a treat!
