A good VPN

I've tried several in the past; some were slow, some were expensive and others spammed if you cancelled your subscription.

Currently using MULLVAD VPN (six weeks) and extremely impressed.

-Very fast. I notice no difference in speed with or without VPN

I have a place in Baja California and have used Nord vpn with good results. It's a bit more, but requires a longer commitment to get a cheaper rate. I'll definitely check out MULLVAD when renewal comes due.

5. VPN Comparison by That One Privacy Guy

When I learned that my privacy was being invaded by different companies multiple times a day, I started trying to reclaim it. I wanted a VPN. However, I soon found that there was very little unbiased and reliable information about VPNs. Almost everything I came across was disguised advertising.

I started researching VPN services for my own knowledge, then posted my findings online to try and help people. I mainly publish two types of information: VPN reviews, and a Comparison Chart of detailed data about the service provided by different VPN companies.

I make every effort to keep the data on the VPN Comparison Chart up to date. However, parts of may be incorrect for various reasons, for example if a given VPN service is not transparent and does not make the data available on their official site. My chart doesn’t make any claims about any service: it simply shows a summary of all the information available (or lacking data). It is, of course, not a substitute for your own research.

If you work for a VPN company and you’d like to request an update to your information, feel free to contact me citing a proper source on the official website. If your information is verifiable, I will be happy to update your data.

The charts are color-coordinated like this:

Green – Generally good/good badge awarded.
Yellow – Something of concern.
Red – Something major of concern/bad badge awarded.

To your site douglas9. It's very interesting. I notice you have Mullvad marked as a "14 eyes" country. IMO, its other advantages outweigh this negative; my use of a VPN is to watch the MSNBC talking heads and the odd BBC documentary.

I became aware of Mullvad after a recent Firefox update. The 'what's new'page discussed the new Firefox built in VPN which, unfortunately, is not available in Australia atm. It went on tho explain that they had partnered with Mullvad, so I decided to look it up.

use the free cable (BBCA-Graham NORTON, HBO-Maher) website, which pushes Nord for pay. It/PROTON is (Swiss?), works for my once per week use. I tried one from the play store that didn't work.

VPNs don't work on Kindle, right?

Just a word of caution to those out there seeking to use a "VPN". I know there are many varied reasons for wanting to use a service like this. Be VERY careful which service you choose. Do thorough research on any service you're thinking of using. VPN stands for Virtual Private Network. Most VPN connections are by nature bi-directional. That means when you join the VPN you are not only joining another network.....the other network is joining you and your network. The network traffic is not just going one direction, it is going both directions. If the operator of the VPN network is unscrupulous that fact leaves open the possibility for all kinds of scenarios since once you connect to them you have joined your network to theirs.

Do the proper diligent research BEFORE you commit to a service like this.
