After more then 20yrs Excite dot com is getting out of the free email biz

Yes I am old.
Yes I made lycos, alta vista and earthlink email accts same time, none of which I remember pass words too.
Yes I had Yahoo email, and I do not recall those passwords either.

Some questions, Are paid for email accounts more secure?

I want to use a free email provider for junk stuff- is Outlook a fair choice.

I'm way not interested in the evil empires (aka Google) as a provider.

Please help me out with advice &what I should know

Thx

I got not only email, but local news, weather, TV listings. You could keep track of your favorite sports teams and make a list of whatever stocks or financial issues you wanted to keep track of. It was my main go to place for years. I preferred Excite over Yahoo!.

Your ISP might have what you are looking for. I know Spectrum allows something like ten addresses per residential account.

I've had Excite mail since 1999. Now I'm having to update everything to my Netscape e-mail.

Seriously!
