I am on Century Link fiber in Florida and the fiber modem has a built in router with WiFi. We have 1 GB service and it is terrific. That will probably be the default. Mine is made by Calix.

They suck here.
No glass fiber, just s-l-o-w DSL.
Are you renting from CL?
C-spire offers router for $10/mo.
I'd rather buy.
