How good does a picture of a QR code need to be?

I used my phone to take a picture of a QR code from the screen of my laptop. It looks like the thing to me but isn't perfectly straight and does not fill the entire screen. I have a paper print out for backup, but it would be much easier to use my phone at five in the morning at airport parking. Thanks in advance.

On edit-am I supposed to scan the QR code from the email on my phone????

7. I am worried about the scanner at the airport. I don't know how I could test what I have.

I am old and confused. I think they are telling me to bring their email to me up on my phone and hold the QR code on it up to their machine. Thank goodness these are the two youngest grandchildren graduating,

8. Yes, it wouldn't be a guarantee.

You could try to scan the QR code image that's now on your phone with another phone/tablet/etc.. The other phone would need a scanner app that reads QR codes.

If your test fails, you might want to get a better QR code image.

If your test succeeds, that's a good sign. It's not a guarantee that the airport's scanner will read it, but it's a good sign.

A paper copy, backup or primary, is a very good idea.

I didn't read the OP very carefully. You took a picture of the QR code displayed on a laptop? Could you possibly transfer (copy, email forward, usb drive, etc.) the email from the laptop to your phone? That way you'll have a digital copy on your phone, with the same quality as the original.

You can still test as I mentioned above.

9. I have the same email on my laptop and my phone.

So, the QR code is on my phone, just smaller than the one I printed and the image on my laptop's screen. I am backed up and should be good. Thanks for your help.
