SPAMMERS

After 20 years finally my best protected email is receiving spam, political and financial, from Florida. Can't seem to stop it. The domains are known spammers online, with almost 1000 complaints, but no way to stop them. I used the unsubscribe button, I filed a complaint with FTC, but still they continue.

I know there's no answer. No one has stopped very much. It took 20 years to stop Nigerian emails.

change your bank, insurance, internet, to one of those accounts.

1. create the account. visit bank to make sure.
2. then internet company
3. then insurance

—— this assumes that those accounts are in in the same email account that is being spammed

The latest operating systems allow you to "hide" your email address ...

Start filling in your email address in a box, it will suggest hiding it by creating an obfuscated address that your message appears to come from, hiding your real address.

Apple collects your incoming mail at that address and forwards it to your desired inbox.
The "other guy" only sees that "created" address, which you can prevent from forwarding later on.

It's like creating a bunch of incoming email addresses, but these forward to your regular inbox per your request and can be deactivated easily.

I have been using getnada.com for incoming-only emails (like when a site demands that you give out an email address to get some freebie). Go there and it creates one for you, or you can choose a more memorable one.

Send that address to your likely spammer, and their reply will show up in the getnada malbox. IT IS NOT PRIVATE. Anyone who knows it can read it, but it's a throwaway. Basically one-time use.

Later emails/spam go to it but you can just ignore them (I forget the names of the inboxes) and mail to them is deleted once a month, IIRC.

Besides getnada, they own a bunch of domains, so you can choose another.

HTH

P.S. Every email client/service has some way to block incoming spam selectively. So you can keep that favorite address. Details vary, of course.

Stopping spam based on the origin is easy but not politically correct.

Stopping spam based on the content of the email is difficult.
