Gmail account help

When I shutdown last night, all was good. When I booted up today, I was logged out of everything except Yahoo.

Gmail took me through screen after screen of security measures, then decided to create an account based on a backup email address and I cannot login to my old Gmail account and access my life, even though it tells me I am logged in. I have no idea what to do. Several of my financial accounts are on there, information I need to pay bills. I mean What Happened? What do I do now?

UPDATE: Finally signed into original account. i think someone is dicking with Google ... now there is a second account with all my personal info ... I need to delete that and change all passwords. THis is so sick.

UPDATE Day 2: Still wrangling with Google. Don't know why all my active logins and site info was deleted 2 nights ago. As if I had deleted all cookies and offline data and then some.

You could always get a real email provider. Cost a few dollars a month but worth every penny. Wonder Why Jan 2024 #8

have you tried adding another email (your real one)? I have two email/google accounts and have them both accessible easily.

I finally got logged into my original account by deleting all cookies. But I have no idea why the second account needed to be created, how to delete it, or what prompted all this security BS today.

I swear, I am leaving Google for good. I can't stand it anymore.

Any of them is a nightmare of cookies and security these days. I try to keep everything in more than one place.

Did everything I could to fix it - I thought - but no luck.

Yahoo in its worst days hasn't ever done so much damage. I've only had gmail about 15 months, but I sure hate to spend the time moving.

Mine costs me $3/mo, provides great customer support and never fails. You don't have to use the big guys with privacy policies that basically say "we steal all your personal information and you can't do anything about it and don't even think about contacting us for problems because you're just a worthless nobody'
