pages 24 to 37, dead tree version, May 2013 issue

I'm only going to list the " Must Have " ones, there are 65 total:

CPU-Z

7-Zip
Ccleaner
Slimdrivers Free
Audacity
Handbrake
Malwarebytes Anti-Malware
Keepass Password Safe
Image Resizer
VLC Media Player
Classic Shell

YMMV, of course. Enjoy !

Photoscape

Also for joining PDF's, PDFBinder. That is what it does and that is all it does. Either click and drag or select PDF's from a list in your folder. As many as you want.
Between that and printing to CutePDF Writer, who needs Adobe?

I have Cccleaner from this list, but have not been able to get the free version of Malwarebytes. No matter what it claims - it's a free trial, not truly free.

I have the pro version but I couldn't figure out why my brother wasn't getting the free version but the trial for the Pro version. I never watched him download it and it's been a long time since I downloaded it.

Thanks Misfit. As they say, it's all in the details. I probably wouldn't have caught that.

Misfit, I have just tried to get the free version again. I deleted the previous download. I do not see the Setup box you see. My only choices on the Setup box are to Update or to Launch. There is no "Enable Free Trial." I have Windows 8 and used the bleeping computer.com website you suggested. I will see what happens when my "trial" version is over. Thanks for your help.
