How do I get rid of the MacKeeper I installed.....can't seem to get rid of it.

And remember, never trust popup ads and enjoy your mac- it doesn't need any type of add-on tools to run better or be more secure, and don't trust anything based on it's own promotion, research first!

2. I know, and you're right, Mac doesn't need anything extra.....and I do know that, but at a moment of

4. No, no not preachy at all......

but I'm not computer savvy enough to even follow what they said. Dang it, I know I shouldn't have installed it. I don't even know how to quit it.....directions say "Quit it if it's running" and it is running, and I don't know how to quit it.

5. Try "Force Quit"

Click on the apple icon, top right of screen, then "Force Quit".

A window will open showing everything that's running, hopefully Mackeeper will be listed, then you can force it to quit.

8. and of course it did come back when I came back on....

but, I wrote to the company and asked them how to uninstall it and they wrote back on how to do it, and it's gone check the activity monitor and it's gone baby, gone. It's even gone on apple margin at the top of the computer screen. Here's what they wrote me:

Thank you for contacting Kromtech Customer support Department.

Here are the steps to uninstall Mackeeper from your Mac:
1) quit MacKeeper (hold command+Q in application).
2) drag and drop it from the Applications folder to your trash.
3) restart your Mac.

They must have been in the christmas spirit eh? So, I've learned my lesson, DON'T ADD ANYTHING TO MY MAC.

10. I was also wondering how to get rid of that damn program.

9. Uh, you do need one add on for OSX

That would be an anti-virus package.
Personally, I use Sophos. It's free, and does a good job.
