I must be stupid, I can't get it to work. I bought this overpriced interface, An Apgee ONE from the Apple store. "Plug and play" it says. Store clerk said it would be a piece of faker to use.
I get it home and set up. Downloaded and installed the software.
The interface seems to be working. I get signal in the Apogee Maestro 2 control panel. I open garage band and can't get any signal.
Though I am new to Apples, Im also not stupid. Something is not opened, selected, started, or something. Anybody have any ideas, this is very frustrating, starting to be sorry I switched to Apple.
Any body want to come over and show me how to work this thing.
Just want to record some of my guitar playing for posterity.
I am having trouble beliving garage band is this difficult to deal with.
Thanks.

(2,335 posts)Whet do you mean by ....don't get a signal. Do you mean garage band does not open up or there is no sound coming out of your monitors / speakers.
The standard answer to no sound is that your audio preference "output" is not lined up ..... It
must be the same in the computer ( under system preferences > audio ) as in garage band preferences > audio. Make sure the output is set to the audio interface and not the USB or Apple TV etc
If GarageBand is not opening up I would just make an appointment at Genius Bar

(1,237 posts)The Apogee ONE interface has 2 inputs. I didn't have the right input selected. The software wanted to know if I wanted input 1 or input 2. Of course thy are not marked on the hardware.
I signed up for one on one help ($100/year) when I bought my iMac, and have been making use of it. About 40 min drive to the Apple store, and my skin starts to crawl when I walk in the Cherry Creek Mall, (very upscale), but going for help about every other week. The Apple store is always busy, tons of people in there.
Thanks for your reply.
